Paper pot press - make ecological growing pots yourself.
With the paper pot press from Esschert Design you can easily and quickly make small flower pots from newspaper. These homemade small pots are an ideal temporary solution or even a decorative and unique gift idea. Because only newspaper is needed for this production, they are also very environmentally friendly, because they rot easily and naturally in the ground.
To make such small growing pots, cut strips from double-layered newspaper. They should be about 30 cm long and about 9 cm wide. Please make sure that you really use newsprint and not paper from magazines or catalogs, as they will not rot in the soil later. Then roll one strip of the double-layered paper at a time around the top of the press. Make sure that about 3 cm protrude at the bottom. Fold this overhang under the press. It is best to start at the seam and then continue piece by piece until they are all the way around. Now place the two parts of the press on top of each other and press them firmly together. Now you can remove the small pot, fill it with soil and put a seed in it. The depth of the seed and also the watering depend on the sowing. When the plants are big enough, you can easily plant them in your garden with the paper pot. The newsprint will decompose within a short period of time and the roots of the plant can continue to expand without any fuss.
Be creative too and create your own little plant pots. When your seed is big enough, you can tie a little bow around it and give your friends as well as acquaintances a little joy with it.
